CLEMSON - Center Dalton Freeman talked about the second scrimmage of the spring and where things stand heading into the break.
The sack total for defense was high today, how do you feel like you guys are doing?
Yeah, our second and third team offensive line is just continuing to get better. We’re rotating guys in and out trying to get them all to mesh. It’s a work in progress, but that is what spring is for.
You’re towards the intermission, where do you think this team falls offensively?
I think we’re further along right now than we were last year at this point. That’s a very positive thing. I’d say we’ve got at least 60 percent of our offense put in and we’ve got to come back and have two good weeks of preparation to come out and have a good spring game.
Who’s really impressed you so far?
I think all of our young guys. All the guys that have come in early have done really well. I think Corey Crawford is going to be a serious presence. I don’t see him red-shirting because he’s done extremely well to be that young. Really just the whole team has impressed me. Their attitudes are so much different than in years past. Everyone is just confident and ready to play.
How has going up against Tavaris Barnes been?
He’s done really well. He’s gotten a lot stronger, and he’s a lost a little of his baby fat coming in from high school and a red shirt season. He’s gotten a lot quicker and stronger, I think he’s going to be pretty good.
