Shrine Combine: Quinshad Davis
The Scout.com No. 32 wide receiver was among several Gaffney High School rising seniors at the combine.
Davis, who had 95 catches for 1,486 yards receiving and 16 touchdowns as a junior, didn't participate because he's recovering from bunion surgery.
He'll sit out of spring practice at Gaffney, but will continue working out to get ready for his senior season. Davis spoke with CUTigers.com about where he plans to visit later this spring.
"My mom said she wants to go down there to both Carolina and Clemson. She said she was planning to go down there next weekend or the week after that," he said. "She's always working, so she's going to take off of work and go."
What will mom be on the lookout for when she makes the trips with him?
"She wants to see how the academics are and how the school is," Davis said. "She wanted to just check them out and make sure how good they are."
He currently claims offers from Clemson, South Carolina and N.C. State and is hopeful that he more are on the way in the near future.
Wake Forest, Georgia, LSU, Florida State, Auburn and Alabama are all expressing interest.
"Wake Forest and LSU are showing the most interest," Davis said.
He does not list any favorites.
"I'll probably announce my decision after my football season this year," Davis said.
Several factors will be considered as he approaches that targeted decision deadline.
"A positive environment," he said, "Academics, of course, a chance to get out there early. Within my four years, at least try to win a championship."
