CUTigers.com confirmed that four-star defensive back Travis Blanks has committed to Clemson.

Blanks, who was on campus earlier this week for Dabo Swinney's football camp, is the fifth four-star prospect to commit to the Tigers in the 2012 recruiting class.

Currently ranked as the No. 9 safety in the nation by Scout.com, Blanks is recruited as a cornerback to Clemson.

He is the third defensive back commitment to the Clemson coaching staff in as many days. All three are rated as four star prospects.

Cordrea Tankersley committed on Wednesday night. Ronald Geohaghan pulled the trigger on Thursday afternoon.

Blanks plans to graduate early from North Florida Christian [Tallahassee, Fla.] and enroll at Clemson next January.

Before his three-day camp stay, Blanks last visited Clemson in late January. His previous stop in Tigertown came last fall for the Miami game.

As a junior, Blanks had 104 tackles, four interceptions and 33 catches for 465 yards.
