Tigers in the mix for four-star OL

This native of Spartanburg who now lives in Georgia has made just two visits so far this summer— the first to Clemson and second to South Carolina.

OL Joe Harris Profile

Harris, a four-star offensive guard at Lithonia High School in Georgia, made the trip to Clemson in late May. His visit to Columbia was on Saturday.

"I've been in touch with coach [Marion] Hobby since [the Clemson trip]," Harris recently told CUTigers.com.

Their most recent conversation took place last week.

"He was just talking about he wants me to come to Clemson. That's it, basically," Harris said.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound senior continues to hold Clemson in high regard.

"Clemson is great. It's a nice school. It's a great atmosphere, great feeling," he said.

For Harris, South Carolina is right there, too. He met with offensive line coach Shawn Elliott while in Columbia.

"I took a tour around the campus. My mom came with me. That was for my mom. She toured the campus and saw everything," Harris said.

There are no further plans for summer visits.

Along with Clemson and South Carolina, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Louisville and Mississippi State have also offered.

Harris currently claims no list of favorites.

"I'm probably going to narrow it down at the beginning of my senior year," he said. "Probably to three."
