DE Corey Crawford
Crawford originally inked with Clemson as part of the 2010 signing class, but the former four-star prospect spent last fall as a post-graduate at Hargrave Military Academy.
: During his senior season at Carver High School in Columbus, Ga., Crawford was named Defensive Player of the Year by the Atlanta Journal Constitution and Columbus Ledger. Scout.com
listed him as the No. 18 defensive end in the class of 2010 and the No. 12 overall player in the state of Georgia.
That season, Crawford had 87 tackles, 16 sacks, two recovered fumbles, two interceptions and two returns for touchdowns.
listed him as a four-star during his post-graduate season at Hargrave. In two games against Fork Union Military Academy, Crawford had four sacks and scored a touchdown off a blocked punt.
: His first spring at Clemson was a fruitful one. The new No. 93 was immediately placed with the second-team defense at the bandit position. Crawford also spent time with the first-team when the starter, Andre Branch, had to leave the team for a few days.
Crawford is projected to avoid a redshirt during the fall. He's expected to move into the starting 11 when Branch departs after the 2011 season. A powerful defender, Crawford figures to be one of a handful impact freshmen on the defensive side of the ball this year.
