Todd Gurley returned to North Carolina on Saturday to watch the Tar Heels take on Miami…
Clemson reaches out to 2012 RB
RB Todd Gurley Profile Last week, Clemson defensive ends coach Marion Hobby called Tarboro High School senior running back Todd Gurley. "I know that one of their running backs had left. I guess they're starting to recruit running backs again," Gurley recently told CUTigers.com. The Scout.com three-star, who's ranked as the No. 29 running back in the class of 2012, likes the Tigers. "I've always been interested in Clemson. That's always one of the [schools]. I thought about playing for Clemson, [while] growing up," he said. A visit could be in the works, though nothing has been set. "I'm still thinking about it. I've got football, so I haven't really been able to call coaches and contact them like I really want to," Gurley said. Georgia is the only school that's received a visit from him this fall. That trip, which he made the second weekend in September, was an official. "I'd been down there before. Just getting my parents down there, it was a good visit," Gurley said. There are two that stand out. "I have a list, but the kind of the main two that have always been there are UNC and Georgia," he said. A decision will be announced at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl on Jan. 3. So far this season, he's rushed for close to 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns. As a junior, Gurley rushed 139 times for 1,472 yards and 26 touchdowns and returned six kickoffs for 290 yards and two touchdowns.
