The No. 28 point guard in the class of 2012 made his official visit to Tigertown this past weekend.
"It was cool. It was really good," Filer told
CUTigers.com
on Sunday. "[I liked] the way the teammates got along real well."
Currently enrolled at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Flitchburg, Mass., the Chicago-area native spent his senior season at Bishop Noll High in Hammond, Ind.
Currently enrolled as a post-graduate at Notre Dame Prep, Filer has already made official visits to Oregon and Tennessee. Clemson was his third.
"It was nice. All the students seem into it. For the football game, there were a lot of people there. It seemed like they were really into Clemson sports," he said.
Filer spent time getting to know the Tiger coaches, too.
A decision for Filer will be made on Nov. 22 or 23. (Scout.com)
"I was basically just trying to see what type of role I would play, if I decide to go to Clemson, just seeing what type of coaches they are, what they do in practice, what's around campus, things around campus to do," he said.
With no list of favorites in mind, one other school could receive an official.
"If I do go anywhere else, it'll probably be Purdue, but I don't know for sure if I'm going to go to Purdue. I'm just working on making my decision soon," Filer said.
A decision will be made on Nov. 22 or 23.
"I'm going to be back home. That's the only time I'll be back home," he said.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound point guard will go public with the decision during a press conference at his high school.
At Mount Carmel, he averaged 14.2 points, handed 4.5 assists and had 1.3 steals and was a Chicago Catholic League first-team selection.
At Bishop Noll, he averaged 18 points, seven assists and three steals per game.
Filer is being recruited to Clemson by Clemson associate head coach Rick Ray.
