Back to Clemson for 4-star
Lancaster High School junior Sindarius Thornwell visited Tigertown earlier this fall for the football game against Boston College. Saturday's trip to Clemson was his first campus visit since the Tigers and Gamecocks squared off on the gridiron.
"It was good," he told CUTigers.com on Sunday's visit.
After the game, he met with Clemson head coach Brad Brownell.
"He was telling that he needed somebody like me to come and penetrate the lane," Thornwell said. "He said, 'I've got some shooters. I need one guy that can come in and get to the basket, finish around the basket.'"
It was a message that Clemson's second-year head coach had previously relayed to the No. 8 shooting guard in the class of 2013.
The trip, Thornwell added, was a positive experience.
"It was a good game," he said. "I like the way they jam on defense. I like their style of play. They get up and down."
Clemson, South Carolina, N.C. State, Miami, Virginia Tech and Tennessee have offered.
"I don't have any favorites," Thornwell said.
The 6-foot-3, 160-pound junior "will probably" narrow his list down after next summer's AAU season ends.
As a sophomore at Lancaster, he averaged 22 points, six rebounds and four assists.
