Tigers move early on WR
Demarre Kitt, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect from Sandy Springs High School in Tyrone, Ga., didn't expect to receive the Clemson offer.
"It was a surprise, really," Kitt told CUTigers on Wednesday afternoon. "I told my coach I wanted them to offer. I told him earlier in the day. Then, later today, he told me they offered me."
He got the news after fourth period. Before Wednesday, Clemson had not had any contact.
"I called coach Cheese [Charlie Harbison]. I've the receivers coach [Jeff Scott] number. I'm going to call him at 6:30," Kitt said.
Although Kitt has not visited Clemson, he's watched the Tigers play on TV several times.
"That offense they run, I really like [it]. That's why I'm interested in them," he said.
A trip to Clemson will be made on March 3. He'll head to Ohio State and Cincinnati this weekend. Next weekend, Kitt will be in Auburn.
As a sophomore, Kitt had 42 receptions for 651 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also had a punt return for a touchdown.
