Leggett commits to Clemson
The 6-foot-6, 220-pound tight end prospect is now heading back home to Florida.
Before leaving, he pulled the trigger.
"I had coach [Dabo] Swinney, coach [Chad] Morris, coach [Danny] Pearman and coach [Jeff] Scott in there when I told coach Swinney about it," Leggett told CUTigers on Saturday.
"They were pumped."
As a junior at Navarre High School, he had 45 receptions, 608 yards receiving, and he scored three touchdowns.
Leggett wasn't necessarily planning on leaving town as a committed member to the 2013 Clemson class.
"I didn't know I'd end up doing it," he said. "We went around on the tour of the campus. I got to meet Brandon Ford. That was really cool. I got to see the rock, everything. It made it all come together. I really feel I can make it a second home."
The most memorable part of the day in Clemson was the trip around the stadium to see Howard's Rock.
Louisville, UCF and South Florida have also offered.
Leggett, who was also hearing from Georgia and Auburn, is Clemson's second verbal commitment in the 2013 recruiting class.
He was offered a scholarship by Tigers offensive coordinator Chad Morris last month.
