Sorting through the options
DE/LB Gerald Turner Profile For starters, he'll have to pick a school. Clemson, South Carolina and North Carolina have offered. Turner also has the option to pick a position he wants to play at the next level. That was brought up in his Junior Day visit to Clemson earlier this month. "Coach [Tony] Elliott was asking me if I made up my mind on which position I want to play," Turner said in a recent interview with CUTigers. "I'm trying to figure that out, too. More than likely, I want to stay at defensive end." That visit to Tigertown went well. "It was pretty good," he told. "We got up there, met with coach Elliott, had to sign in and then we went upstairs. We were introduced to the coaches. We saw the rock and the hill, then the weight room." What stood out? "There wasn't anything that really, really stood out to me. I understand they want me to come to their school. I get along with coach Elliott. I'm starting to really get along with coach [Marion] Hobby. I'm just going to go from there and see where things go." As a junior, Turner had 38 tackles, 27 assists, eight tackles for loss, six sacks, two interceptions [one returned for a touchdown], two blocked punt recoveries, both for which were returned for touchdowns.
