Four-star CB has Clemson out front

One of the top cornerbacks in the country has been a Clemson fan since he was a little kid. And he currently has the Tigers atop his list of favorites.

CB Mackensie Alexander Profile

Immokalee High School [Florida] junior cornerback Mackensie Alexander hasn't visited Clemson, but hopes to do so this summer.

"They are my favorite school. I want to check them out and see how they do things," he said in a recent interview with CUTigers.

He added, "Right now, I still talk to the coaches, Tony Elliott, coach [Charlie Harbison], to talk to them and see what it's like and all that kind of stuff. I have a good relationship. I just want to see what's going on down there."

The Tigers have been his favorite school for quite some time now.

"I grew up liking Clemson as a kid. They're my favorite, so I've definitely got to check them out," Alexander said. "They were always on TV and I'd watch them. I loved their secondary back then. When the ball was in there, it was lights out. They had a good secondary…I've always liked Clemson."

The former Tennessee commitment is not in a rush to make another commitment. He's still looking around and weighing his options.

Along with the Clemson offer, the No. 3 cornerback in the country has offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Nebraska, Ohio State, Tennessee and USC.

"Me committing is going to be a big thing with me and my brother [Mackenro Alexander]. We want to be in the same secondary together," he said."Whenever I feel comfortable and whenever he feels comfortable, we're going to make it happen."

Alexander de-committed from Tennessee for a couple of reasons.

"It was kind of like that, too, but they were kind of waiting on [Mackenro]. And the coach I was comfortable with, he left, I was comfortable with him," he said.

As a junior, Alexander had 42 tackles last season, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries and six pass break-ups.
