The Lions’ head coach likes Dunn to one of the wide receivers around the corner at Clemson.
“He’s a ball player. I compare him to
Adam Humphries
,” Robinson told
CUTigers
in a recent interview. “He’s does a little bit of everything. We started him on defense. He was a slot receiver. We didn’t throw it a whole lot last year, so he was on defense, punt return -- he makes stuff happen. We put him at running back [after] we lost depth at running back.
“He can do anything. He’s performed real well at these combines.”
At the Shrine Bowl combine, Dunn a 4.75 in the 40, a 4.28 in the shuttle run, broad jumped 8’5” and repped 185 pounds on the bench press 14 times.
“I slipped [on the shuttle, but I usually run a 4.2. [The 40] wasn’t that good…but other than that I did real well,” he said.
Dunn will camp at
Maryland
this summer. There, he could put himself in serious contention for an offer from the Terps.
Former Clemson running backs coach
Andre Powell
is now in the same position at Maryland.
“He told me that I’ve got a chance. If I can run a 4.4 at camp…he said up there, they need some scat around players,” Dunn said.
He’s visited Appalachian State, Western Carolina and Furman. He’ll also camp at those schools this summer.
“We use him at safety because he’s football smart. All those interceptions on his highlight are because he anticipates what’s going on. He isn’t scared to hit,” Robinson said.
