Rogers reviews All In Cookout
DE Dane Rogers Profile The Crest High School [Shelby, N.C.] senior was among the 12 commitments from Clemson's 2013 class in town for the cookout. "Great time, it was good to see all the guys at one time. It was good to have everybody get together to eat good food, listen to good music, just have a good time," Rogers told CUTigers on Sunday. The three-star defensive end spent time getting to know fellow commitments Robert Nkemdiche and Ryan Jenkins, and target Demarcus Walker. What stood out to Rogers about the cookout? "They talk about it is family and everybody gets together," Rogers said. "It really is like a family, like you would have in your back yard at your own family cookout. It was a great experience. They put the family right in it." Rogers has already turned his attention back to Crest. "We've just got morning workouts this week. Then, we start up our first day of practice," he said. Practice opens on July 30. The No. 75 ranked defensive end hopes to pick up where he left of as a junior. "I'm just looking forward to dominating and getting back to where we were the last two years, finishing what we started, getting that state championship," Rogers said. He also hopes to improve, individually. "I always set my goals to do way better than I did last year," Rogers said. "It hasn't failed yet. Hopefully, I can continue my progress of having more tackles, more sacks, more fumble recoveries -- all that good stuff that makes you a great player." As a junior, Rogers recorded 120 tackles and had five sacks.
