Macon (Ga.) Telegraph sports editor Daniel Shirley will now contribute on CUTigers.

Just in time for the beginning of preseason camp, CUTigers is pleased to announce the addition of Daniel Shirley to its staff.

Shirley, the current sports editor for the Macon (Ga.) Telegraph and Macon.com, will contribute columns to CUTigers throughout the upcoming football season starting August 1.

"Daniel and I started talking about this possibility earlier this year and we are delighted to be able to have him on board," CUTigers publisher Roy Philpott said. "He brings a wealth of knowledge, not only as a writer but as a Clemson supporter."

Shirley is also a graduate of Clemson University and Anderson's Westside High School, and co-hosts a morning show on FoxSports 1670 AM in Macon, Ga.

He also has worked at the Anderson Independent before heading to Macon.

CUTigers, part of the Scout.com/Fox Sports Next network, covers Clemson University sports, with an emphasis on football, basketball, baseball and recruiting.
