CLEMSON - After Wednesday night's practice, Dabo Swinney announced that Martavis Bryant will be out the next two weeks with a groin injury.
Bryant, a sophomore wide receiver from Anderson, suffered an injury while lifting weights before practice on Tuesday.
"He had to have kind of an emergency-type surgery last night, in his groin area," Swinney said. "He's out of the hospital today and back out there at practice...he can't do much."
The head coach added, "He had some type of issue then went straight to the training room. They had to take him over to Oconee and do some surgery, but he's OK. It's not anything major, serious, anything like that."
Through for games this season, Bryant has two catches for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Bryant caught nine passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman.
"Hopefully, by the end of next week, he'll be able to get back going," Swinney said. "Then, we've got the open date, so he'll be back and ready to roll for Virginia Tech.
"He's going to be out for this week and next Saturday, so we'll miss him."
Quandon Christian
has "been a little limited" and "banged up" this week.
"He should be OK," Swinney said. "That's pretty much it. Everybody else is a go."
Clemson travels to Boston College on Saturday for a 3:30 kickoff on ESPN2.
