Clemson offers '16 receiver

Keith Gavin from Wakulla picked up his first scholarship offer from Clemson this past week. He's a 6-foot-3 and 205-pound wide receiver.

One of the top teams in the Big Bend area of Florida is Crawfordville (Fla.) Wakulla High School. A big reason why is the play of freshman wide receiver Keith Gavin. This 2016 recruit is already 6-foot-3 and 205-pounds. Yesterday he was was [verbally] offered by Clemson.

"Not only is he pretty to look at but he can really play," Kless said. "We had Nigel Bradham here. This kid is bigger and better at the same stage. Keith has a chance to be very special."

Word has gotten out. And you can bet that the Tigers will be the first of many, many offers for Gavin.

"It's not surprising because this kid is that good," Kless said. "I know Florida saw film and coach [Brent] Pease immediately came out here to check him out. They invited him to a game and he's already been to the Swamp.

"It's just a matter of time."

Time will be Gavin's friend, as he will continue to develop and continue to grow. There's no telling how big he will get and what position he will eventually play

"He plays safety too," said Grady Guess, the team's defensive coordinator. "He's aggressive and physical and just learning. Keith's made some big plays for us already. Who knows what will happens once he starts really putting weight on. He could play anywhere."
