Florida State quarterback E.J. Manuel has been named a finalist for the Johnny Unitas award and has also accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl. Find out the other finalists here.

Five finalists for the 2012 Johnny Unitas Award

Matt Barkley (USC) - has thrown for 113 touchdowns and collected 12,026 yards in his four-year career. Barkley is a sure-fire first round pick come April, despite having a disappointing senior year in which the Trojans were picked by many experts to play in the National Championship game. He has 226 completions on 349 attempts so far this season which equates to a QB rating of 160.0. Barkley still has some big games left to add to that legacy as the Trojans play host to undefeated Notre Dame to finish the regular season and then a potential rematch with No. 2 Oregon.

Collin Klein (KSU) - Arguably the biggest surprise of the college football season is Kansas State and the play of quarterback Collin Klein. After Alabama was knocked off last weekend, KSU took over the No. 1 spot which has the Wildcats in national title discussions, and Klein in Heisman talks. Klein, a former wide receiver and tailback, has completed 145 passes on 208 attempts and 12 touchdowns through 10 games.

E.J. Manuel (FSU) - has finally been able to stay healthy for a full season and has put up some numbers that show it. Manuel is the most accurate quarterback in Florida State history with a 66.9 completion percentage. Through 10 games, Manuel has completed 186 passes on 272 attempts for a QB rating of 169.3 - currently sixth in the country. He has 19 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

A.J. McCarron (UA) - McCarron is just a sophomore, but entered the season looking for a second national championship as the starter. So far this season McCarron has a QB rating of 168.2 with 157 completions on 238 attempts. Most impressive stat from McCarron is that he's taken care of the ball extremely well for a true sophomore and thrown just two interceptions. McCarron has also thrown 20 touchdowns this season.

Geno Smith (WVU) - was the center of attention, and to many people, a lock for the Heisman through the first five weeks of the college football season. In the up-tempo offense that Smith runs, he has been able to put up some video game-like numbers. Smith entered the season with a 55-14 TD-INT ratio and has 31 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions this season. Smith has a QB rating of 159.19 with 285 completions on 400 attempts.
