California WR eyeing Clemson trip

Few players out West have seen their stock skyrocket like La Mirada's Dallis Todd. The standout receiver has offers from several elite programs all over the country and recently set up his first unofficial visit.

Dallis Todd is a very intriguing receiver prospect with a nice skill set to him. He's a big receiver but can run and has the ability to stretch the field as a deep threat, take a short hitch and make multiple defenders miss and be that dependable third down receiver when you need a clutch catch over the middle.

As a junior, Todd caught 72 balls for 1,041 yards and 10 touchdowns to earn all-league and all-CIF honors. He's easily among the top pass catchers in the West and a bona fide national prospect. Todd actually played last season as a senior but was re-classified as a junior in January and that's when his recruitment really took off.

"Eastern Washington was my first offer," Todd said. "That came on January 22 and it was right after I was re-classified. Pretty soon, schools like Ohio State, Clemson, Ole Miss, Arizona State, Tennessee and Florida offered as well. I honestly never saw this happening but my coach told me schools really liked my film so it has been very exciting for me.

"Right now, I have an unofficial visit set to Ohio State for April 6 to watch spring practice. I plan to take a few more visits in the spring/summer but I haven't decided where or when yet. I also plan to take all my official visits so I'm no where near making a decision right now."

As for where he might want to visit, Todd said five schools currently stand out.

"I would like to visit Clemson, Ohio State, Florida, Tennessee and Ole Miss," Todd said. "Distance for me is not a factor at all, I'll go anywhere. I'm looking at style of offense, tradition, my relationship with the coaches and just how comfortable I feel at the school.

"Style of offense is big, I want to go somewhere that throws the ball, where I'll have a chance to be featured. I'm big on tradition too, that's why I like Ohio State and why it would cool to check out a school like Alabama. I've talked with them and they said they're evaluating me. I've also talked with California, Oregon, Washington and UCLA in the Pac 12. Right now, I'm really enjoying the recruiting process and just excited to see how it all plays out for me."
