NOTES: Warren On Fire

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State freshman T.J. Warren set the tone for NC State in the win over Florida State. Here are some postgame notes on Warren and the rest of the Wolfpack from the victory.

  • This is the third time NC State coach Mark Gottfried has started the lineup of Lorenzo Brown, Scott Wood, Richard Howell, C.J. Leslie and T.J. Warren this year.

The group is 2-1 on the season as a starting unit.

  • For the month of February, Richard Howell has been sweet on the line, shooting 14- of-17 (.824) from the charity stripe this month.

He has not had sub .500 night on the line this entire month.

    Vs. Miami - 1-of-1
    Vs. Duke - 1-of-2
    Vs. Clemson – 2-of-2
Vs. Virginia Tech – 4-of-4 Vs. Florida State – 6-of-8

  • T.J. Warren's 31 points and 13 rebounds against the Seminoles are both career highs, topping the 22 points and eight rebounds he had in the Pack's second game of the season, a 72-55 win over Penn State in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Nov. 15.

His 31 points ties J.J. Hickson (William & Mary, 11/15/07) and Scott Wood (1/12/10) for the third-best scoring total an NC State freshman.

  • Ernie Myers holds the freshman record for points with 35 points versus Duke (1/26/83).

  • Warren has scored in double figures in three of the Pack's last four games, helping State to 3-1 mark over that span.

He set a career mark for field goals made (12) and attempted (15) against the Seminoles.

He also posted his first career double-double with 13 rebounds.

His two 3-pointers gave him more than one for the first time since the Pack's 84-62 victory over Norfolk State on Dec. 15.

  • It is the fifth time Warren has scored 20 or more points this season.

  • Since his return to the court following a two-game hiatus due to an ankle injury sustained at Virginia on Jan. 29, Lorenzo Brown has a total of 39 points in his last three games and is averaging 13.0 points per game over that stretch.

Brown had nine assists in his 33 minutes of action.

  • Scott Wood's 3-pointer at the 3:03 mark of the first half was the 300th of his Wolfpack career.

With three in the game, Wood now needs 19 to tie NC State all-time leading scorer Rodney Monroe (322) for the most in program history.

  • NC State won its 19th game of the season on Tuesday, doing so in 26 games, which is four games sooner than it took the Pack achieve that victory mark last year.

  • NC State's 18-point margin of victory is its largest in ACC play this season.
