DB listens to Venables' message
Clemson offered South Point High School [Belmont, N.C.] sophomore Tanner Muse last Tuesday. He then made the trip to Clemson Saturday for the annual Orange and White spring game.
"It was good. They have really nice facilities. That place is really nice," Muse told CUTigers earlier this week.
Muse spoke with several of the Clemson coaches while he was on campus.
"I talked with the defensive coordinator, coach [Brent] Venables, coach [Dabo] Swinney and coach [Dan] Brooks," he said.
The conversation with Swinney was brief.
"He was just glad I was down. I met his wife and we just talked a little bit about life and me being down there," Muse said.
What was Venables' message?
"He just likes the way I play. He told me about his past. He told me what it was like to be at Clemson. He just wanted to make sure that I knew that the offer was on the table."
Saturday's setting was different than what he experienced last fall while in for a game.
"It wasn't as crowded, because it was a spring game," Muse said. "When they have their real games, the town is real crowded. I like the small town and how the community is. It's really nice."
As a sophomore, Muse recorded 60 tackles and five interceptions.
