Elite instate DL returns to Dabo Camp
For the one-day camp during this year's second session, Barnett was at defensive end.
"It was pretty fun. I learned a lot of new things. It was pretty fun," Barnett told CUTigers in a recent interview.
It was a good experience for the 6-foot-5, 245-pound rising junior prospect.
"I liked working with the coaches, so if I decided to go there, what it would be like…it was pretty cool," he said.
Barnett interacted with running backs coach Tony Elliott, his recruiter of note, and defensive ends coach Marion Hobby.
"This year, I was talking more. They were with me. I was playing offensive line. I didn't know what I could be capable of," Barnett said.
He added, "Coach Hobby and I were mostly talking what I need to talk about, as far as my foot placement…he was saying I was very coachable."
After Clemson's camp, he went to camp at Florida and took a visit to Florida State.
Clemson, Florida, Florida State, N.C. State and Virginia Tech have offered.
"It's still too early. I like everyone the same. It's too early for me. I don't have any high interest on any teams. I like them all the same," Barnett said.
When he does reach a point where it's time to start focusing on a specific number of schools, Barnett has a couple of criteria in mind.
"Me playing on the edge -- them not trying to move me inside to d-tackle or something like that," he said. "And having a broadcasting [major] so I can learn sports communication. Afterwards, I want to be a sports broadcaster. To have that and basically, a place that feels like home."
As a sophomore, Barnett finished with 46 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
