Jones tears ACL

During Sunday night's teleconference, Dabo Swinney confirmed that Kellen Jones tore his ACL against N.C. State.

The date of the surgery has not been determined, but Swinney hopes that it will be around the same time that Charone Peake undergoes ACL surgery.

"We're talking about Thursday or Friday before the B.C. game," Swinney said. "Depending on how much swelling all that stuff, he'll probably be scheduled at the same time."

Swinney wasn't sure if Jones, who sat-out last season after transferring from Oklahoma, would be eligible for a medical redshirt.

"We'll discuss that in the morning as a staff and run that up the ladder," Swinney said. "He has been redshirted, because he transferred, so I'm not sure, at this point, if they will allow him another redshirt."

Jones has played 37 snaps this season. The reserve WILL linebacker has 10 tackles and two sacks.

"He's a young player that I think was going to continue to emerge as we go through the season, so we'll lose another great player there."
