Florida RB intrigued by Clemson

Three-star running back T.J. Simmons, a junior at Lakeland High School in Florida, made his first visit to Clemson in the fall.

He was one of several highly sought after prospects to be on the Clemson campus for the Florida State game.

"The environment in Death Valley is fun. Seeing them run down the hill. It was a great game, obviously Clemson didn't pull it out, but just being there around the players, just getting to see the atmosphere and walk around the campus, it was a great feeling. It was phenomenal," he told CUTigers, during a recent interview.

Though Clemson has not offered, he holds offers from several other top programs, including Florida, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Penn State.

He's visited, mostly, instate schools.

"I got a chance to go to Florida, just because it's the in-town, local school that's a few hours away from my house. And I got a chance to go to a Florida State game. I also got a chance to go to a Miami game," Simmons said.

Notre Dame could host him for a visit next month.

"I'm going to wait a little while, until my senior year before I take some official visits, probably to Clemson, if they offer, and the University of Florida, Ohio State, go visit some of those schools for my officials," Simmons said.

As a junior, he rushed for 1,200 yards 11 touchdowns.
