Tuttle decided on three of five

Shy Tuttle is the top prospect in North Carolina. The 2015 Lexington (N.C.) North Davidson defensive tackle spoke with Scout.com about his recruitment, future and more.

Shy Tuttle has scholarship offers from across the country. His most recent came from Big 12 school.

"Texas was my last offer," said the 6-foot-3, 315-pound Tuttle. "It was good to get that offer.

"They'll probably get a lot of top recruits in the next few years and it was cool to get an offer from them."

The four-star defensive lineman said he has the most contact with Clemson, North Carolina, N.C. State and Tennessee.

Recently, he visited an in-state school.

"I was at Duke last weekend," he said. "They had a junior day and a basketball game against Carolina.

"I got a chance to talk to coach (David) Cutcliffe and he told me to keep coming back. I really enjoyed the basketball game, too."

Tuttle has an idea of other schools he will visit in the near future.

"Next month, I'm visiting Florida State," Tuttle said. "Other than that, I'm not sure. I'll also probably check out some local teams – Carolina and State – and probably Clemson."

When will he trim his list of schools?

"I'll probably narrow my list down to five over the summer," he said. "UNC, Clemson and N.C. State will definitely make the list.

"All those schools have recruited me for a long time and stayed consistent. I also like the campuses at all three schools and I have a good feel for each school – and each staff."

He has timetable for a his commitment.

"I'm enrolling early, so I'd like to have my decision made halfway through the season," Tuttle said. "I'm going to try take all five official visits before I commit."
