Clemson returns to Tallahassee
ATH Korey Charles Profile Clemson wide receivers coach Jeff Scott, who played a big part in helping to reel in Blanks to Clemson, was in Tallahassee last week to offer 2016 athlete Korey Charles. "I was surprised that they offered me. I was pretty ecstatic and really excited," Charles told CUTigers. Clemson joined Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, UNC and USF on Charles' offer sheet. Scott offered him as an athlete. "I know that they had a few good players go into the NFL. I know that Clemson is a very good program. That's about it, what I know so far," Charles said. The 6-foot, 175-pound prospect is also aware of the connection between Blanks and North Florida Christian. "I've never really had a chance to talk to Travis. We met at a football game in the spring, but that was about the last time I've talked to him," Charles said. He hopes to make his first visit to Clemson in the not too distant future. "I'm trying my best to see if I can go up there for one of their camps, but I don't know," Charles said. LSU is another potential summer destination. During the spring, he went to LSU's spring game. Florida State hosted him for a couple of visits, too. At North Florida Christian, Charles plays free safety and running back. As a sophomore, he had 89 tackles, two tackles for loss, one interception and five pass breakups. On the offensive side of the ball, he had seven carries for 78 yards and a score. He also caught three passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.
