The Gamecocks have some in-state talent on commitment watch.
Huggins' three days in Clemson
And it was a very productive stay for the four-star defensive tackle from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School.
"It's been great. I learned some new things, saw some new things, I enjoyed myself," Huggins told CUTigers on Wednesday afternoon.
The 6-2, 280-pound prospect got a little more specific.
"You know, just seeing that Clemson -- they keep on grinding no matter what," he said. "I've been up there the past three years and I see something new every time I come.
"They add new things and just want to get better and better. I can see that in Clemson."
There was no pressure to commit at any point during his visit, which began on Monday and ended Wednesday afternoon. The Clemson coaches have encouraged Huggins to do his due diligence when it comes to the recruiting process.
"They just said, ‘Take your time and make the right decision for yourself,'" Huggins said.
That stance could pay off in the long-run.
"Whatever they say, I'm going to listen to it," Huggins said. "That's one thing about me, I'm going to listen. Then, for me, I've got to analyze whether I like it or not. But the stuff that they told me, that was a good thing.
"I'm going to take my time through the process and, hopefully, I can make a decision, before when, I don't know, but, hopefully, I can make a decision."
Before coming to that conclusion, Huggins would like to make a couple of more visits.
"Hopefully, I can get to Georgia in two or three weeks and then Florida over the summer some time," he said.
When it comes to a timeline on the decision, that's still up in the air.
"I really don't know, to tell you the truth. It's a very difficult decision. It's a life-changing decision. I've got to take time and really think about this and pray about it, so I don't know when yet," Huggins said.
