According to Scout.com, Hardman is four-star prospect and the 18th best cornerback in the class of 2016.

"I was talking to coach [Tony] Elliott before I came to the camp and he was saying there was a chance they could offer because they were really interested in me…after I got to camp, I did two sessions, one session at DB, one session at wide receiver," Hardman told CUTigers on Sunday. "I did well at DB, I locked down. Then, I went to wide receiver and I took over in wide receiver drills. Coach [Jeff] Scott took a liking to me and he was like, man this kid is good. He talked to coach [Chad] Morris and coach Morris talked to coach [Dabo] Swinney, coach Swinney was like, yeah, offer the kid. Then, he came and offered me personally."

The Clemson offer is one that he wanted to add to his list, which includes Miami, Penn State, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

"It means a big deal to me. I know they're only taking big recruits in 2016, so for them to offer me, it means they're really interested in me and they really want me as a recruit, a player to play for them," Hardman said.

Getting that word from Swinney also meant a lot.

"Coach Swinney, that's one of the top coaches in the nation. For him just to come over there offer me a full scholarship, shake my hand, that's a big deal," Hardman said.

After Saturday's camp, he toured the Clemson campus on Sunday.

"The campus is great. The people are great, too. It feels like a family," Hardman said. "Like coach Swinney say, it's family. It feels like a family with everybody around. The players are cool. I went to the player's lounge. It's a great campus overall, it's really great."

Hardman knows one of the Clemson players pretty well. Redshirt freshman running back Tyshon Dye is his cousin.

"We're real close. I talked to him about Clemson. He was telling me about, how it was great," Hardman said. "It would be good if I commit to Clemson, then Tyshon and I will have two years together, because he got redshirted last year, so that would be good to play with him on the field, on the offensive side of the ball."

As a sophomore, Hardman rushed for 1,672 yards with 17 touchdowns, threw for 508 yards and six touchdowns.
