DE/OLB Josh Brown Profile

Mallard Creek High School [Charlotte, North Carolina] rising junior Josh Brown has been a regular at the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

In fact, he was in Clemson last month for the second session of this year's version.

"It was a great experience. I've been coming to the camp since I was [younger]. I've always enjoyed the camp. It was good to get back out there at the Clemson camp. I always enjoy it. That's why I come back every year," he told CUTigers, during a recent interview.

"Of course, it was fun. I brought a couple of teammates with me, so that made it an even better experience. I pretty much loved it."

During the first practice, Brown worked out with Marion Hobby at defensive end. After that, Brown moved to Brent Venables' linebacker group for the rest of the camp.

"I was going to switch anyway. At first I was going to stay with d-linemen a little bit longer, but there were a lot of young people out there, people way younger than me, eighth graders and stuff," he said.

At linebacker "there was a whole lot of competition."

"There were a few linebackers that they had already offered, so it was good working with them, to see what they do," Brown said. "With the tight ends and running backs, we had a lot of good tight ends and running backs out there."

A three-star defensive end, according to Scout.com, Brown isn't certain where Clemson sees him playing at the next level.

"I haven't really talked to their coaches. Nobody has really talked to me about recruiting or anything like that, so I'm not really sure," he said. "I like linebacker myself."

Though Clemson has yet to show much in the way of interest, Brown does have offers from Florida State, UNC and UCLA.
