Recently, we sat down with senior linebacker John Leake to get his thoughts on a number of subjects,…
Leake Named to the East-West Shrine Game
"Yeah, I'm leaving Atlanta right after the Peach Bowl to fly out to San Francisco," said Leake on the practice fields in Atlanta Saturday morning as the Tigers began preparations for the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.
"I'm excited to be playing in it. Hopefully it will just give the chance to show some people what I can do against some of the best competiion out there," Leake added.
The East-West Shrine Game is played at Pac Bell Park in San Francisco and will kickoff at 11 AM on January 10th.
Pittsburgh head coach Walt Harris will coach the East team this year, and UNLV coach John Robinson will coach the West squad.
In an interview with CUTigers earlier this month, Leake said that he is anxious to get into an all-star game and also into the NFL combines to help show that he's as physically gifted as any of the other linebackers potentially drafted ahead of him.
"You know, I hear people say that I'm slow, but I'm not slow. People think I run a 4.7. I don't run a 4.7 and I haven't run something like that since early in high school," he said with a laugh. "I'm just anxious to get these combines and show people what I'm all about."
