Clemson wide receiver
Derrick Hamilton
will soon announce that he will skip his senior year at Clemson, and enter the NFL Draft.
A formal announcement is expected later this week.
CUTigers.com confirmed this earlier this afternoon through a source close to Hamilton.
Hamilton, who is best known for his ellusiveness and playmaking ability, was ranked as the #11 prospect in the ACC by NFL Draft Expert Tony Pauline at the start of the season.
Hamilton brought in 62 passes for 1,026 yards and 10 touchdowns this year for the Tigers. He also broke the all-purpose yardage record against Florida State earlier in the 2003 season.
The Dillon, South Carolina native had 142 all-purpose yards that evening, which propeled him past the old record of 4,391 yards, held by Travis Zachery (1998-2001).
Hamilton becomes the second underclassmen to leave for the professional ranks. DT Donnell Washington has also announced that he will be turning pro.
