According to multiple sources, Clemson assistants Burton Burns and Brad Scott were both offered jobs by Steve Spurrier.
CUTigers.com has learned that Clemson running backs coach Burton Burns, was recently offered a similar position at the University of South Carolina by Gamecocks head coach Steve Spurrier.
CUTigers.com has now also confirmed earlier reports that a similar offer was made to offensive line coach Brad Scott.
Both offers were matched by Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden, and both coaches will stay at Clemson to continue their careers.
CUTigers.com has confirmed that neither coach will move on to work at the University of South Carolina.
In addition, the Gamecocks have since filled both assistant coaching vacancies.
Former Arkansas running back Madre Hill has been named the new running backs coach, and John Hunt was named earlier today to lead the offensive line.
CUTigers.com will have more on this developing story, shortly.
