Ford Signs with New Jersey

Former Tiger Sharrod Ford signed a free agent contract with the New Jersey Nets earlier today.

Ford was hoping be taken in the NBA Draft on Tuesday night, but he was not selected.

Ford told CUTigers.com earlier this week, "I think since I've stepped into the door at Clemson, I've come a long way, especially since my freshman year. I think it just came from a lot of hard work and being determined in what I wanted to do. I set goals for myself and I had to reach those goals and I knew it was going to take a lot of hard work for me to reach those goals."

As a senior, Ford averaged a career high 14.9 points and 8.2 rebounds a game, and he was also named as a third team All-ACC performer.
