In a game that featured two teams with dismal seasons, the fans that showed up Thursday evening got their money's worth. Delvon Arrington scored a career high 24 points to lead Florida State to a 91-84 overtime win over the Tigers in the first round of the ACC tournament Thursday night.

The Seminoles trailing by nine points with 6:48 left in regulation, went on a 14-2 run to take a two-point lead with 11 seconds left in the game. Tomas Nagys tipped in a missed shot by Jamar McKnight with 0.6 seconds left to force overtime.
In the extra period, the Noles would force the tempo early as Monte Cummings nailed a free throw and Michael Joiner hit a 3-pointer early on to put the Tigers in an uncomfortable deficit. The Tigers wouldn't make a field goal until the 1-minute mark in overtime and by then it was too late. Florida State would hold off any sort of rally by nailing down 14-of-18 free throws down the stretch.
Edward Scott led the Tigers with 23 points and Thomas Nagys had a career evening with 18 points and 9 boards. Nagys was forced to play more minutes because of Chris Hobbs' and Ray Henderson's foul trouble. Hobbs registered only 13 minutes of playing time before fouling out in the 2nd half.
With the loss, the Tigers finish a dissapointing 2002 season at 13-17 and 13-49 all-time in the ACC tournament. Florida State improves to 12-16 on the year as the Noles will play the Maryland Terrapins Friday afternoon at 12.
Rumors continue to swirl around Clemson Head Coach Larry Shyatt, who has one year remaining on his current contract. 3 out of his 4 teams have ended the year in last place in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
