Sims Gives Clemson Visit 9.5

Marcus Sims

4-star RB Marcus Sims and his father discuss his in-home visit with Clemson head coach Tommy Bowden as well as his official visit to Clemson last weekend. CUTigers.com has all the details in this recruiting update.

6-2, 220 pound running back prospect Marcus Sims had an in-home visit from coach Bowden and assistant coach Dabo Swinney earlier this week.

"It went great. I thought he had a lot of good stuff to tell me. We have a good relationship," Marcus told CUTigers.com.

Last weekend the 4-star athlete also traveled to Clemson for an official visit.

"It was good too. I had a pretty good time. I got to meet the players and see what Clemson football is all about. I enjoyed meeting with the players and the coaches. I also got to see the facilities. Everything was very nice," stated Marcus.

How did Sims rate the visit on a scale of one to 10? "I would probably rate it a 9.5," he responded.

Clemson RB James Davis hosted Sims on his visit. "He was a good guy. He is real down to earth. He was real straightforward. He told me the truth," he said of his host.

Marcus' father also left Clemson very impressed with what Clemson has to offer.

"I really did. I tell you what. It was one of the most impressive places I have been. They have the total program. Tommy has done an outstanding job with what he has accomplished at Clemson," he said.

"It was such a rewarding thing to see what Tommy has done with the program. We didn't think it was going to be like that. We knew it would be nice, but it was more than we expected."

When asked if his favorites are still the same, Marcus responded, "Yes. It is still Clemson, Florida State and Southern California."

The two-way star prefers to play running back and believes all three schools will give him that opportunity. "Florida State is telling me I can play either position. Southern California is recruiting me at running back," Sims said.

How will the Tallahassee, Fla. Native decide between his three favorites?

"I think I am just going to sit down with my parents after my visit to Florida State. We will right down the pros and cons for each school. Then we will see which one fits me the best," he responded.
