Big Time LB Now has Clemson Offer

One of the top linebackers in the southeast, recently picked up an offer from coach Billy Napier and the Tigers. CUTigers.com has the latest on the star linebacker in this recruiting update.

5-11, 210 pound linebacker prospect Barquell Rivers already has a very impressive offer list entering the end of his junior year in high school. "I just got offers recently from Clemson and Louisville. I have around 15 offers now," Rivers told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

Coach Napier is recruiting the Anson standout for the Tigers. "Yeah Clemson offered last Monday. Coach Napier sent me the offer in the mail.

"Coach Napier said they are only going to take three linebackers. He said they really like me. They like my speed and how I get after it."

When asked if he has any early favorites, Rivers responded, "I don't have any right now. I will narrow things down this summer."

The talented defender attended a Nike camp last weekend at Georgia. "I went to the Nike camp in Athens Saturday. It went well."

The prize recruit will also visit Clemson over the summer. "I know I am going to a passing camp at Clemson. I am not sure about any other camps yet," he said.

Teammate Trinton Sturdivant committed to Georgia earlier this spring. Does that give the Dawgs an advantage if they offer? "It won't be a big factor," stated Rivers.

"I will be looking at graduation rates. I will also be looking for a school with good facilities and a good football tradition. I also will be looking for the right atmosphere.

"I am going to make my decision during the season."
