Dye Enjoys Time with Korn

CUTigers.com caught up with Clemson verbal commitment Xavier Dye after he returned from the NIKE camp earlier this week. Find out the latest on the Greenwood standout including how he enjoyed playing with his future teammate and his summer plans in this recruiting update.

Xavier Dye, a 6-5, 180 pound wide receiver prospect out of Greenwood, attended the Nike camp at Clemson this past Sunday.

"It was pretty good. I really enjoyed it. It was a good experience. I ran a 4.58 forty," Dye told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

The highlight of the day for Xavier was getting to catch some passes from his future quarterback, Willy Korn. "That was my first time ever," he said. "He is a great quarterback. He throws a fine ball. They don't get any better than Will.

"We still talk a good bit on the phone. I also got to see him at the spring game."

The talented receiver will be back in Clemson later this summer. "I am going to a couple of camps this summer," said Dye. "I will be going to camp at Clemson and Furman and one other. I am also going to some passing leagues."

The prize recruit also just finished spring practice with Greenwood. "It went pretty good," he said. "We got a lot done. We are going to be okay this year. We are still working out the quarterback position."

And what about recruiting? Yes, Xavier is firmly committed to Clemson but he's also been helping out the Tigers' recruiting efforts when given the chance.

"Will and I both talked with some folks at the camp on Sunday," said Dye. "I will leave the recruiting up to Will. He is better at it than I am."

What is Dye looking forward to about his senior season at Greenwood? "I am just looking forward to my senior year. I want to be a leader for the team this year," replied Dye.

Finally, the Palmetto state standout said he is very impressed with the progress of the WestZone.

"That is going to be nice," he said. "I saw it during the spring game. They gave us a tour. And they told us about how they are going to have a Clemson walk where team walks to the WestZone. It looks good."
