Former Clemson wide receiver Roscoe Crosby was released by the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday. Crosby signed on the team after last year's supplemental draft before being released and signed again to the team's practice squad.

Former Clemson wide receiver Roscoe Crosby has been released by the Indianapolis Colts, ColtPower.com has learned.

Picked up by the team following last year's supplemental draft, Crosby was released prior to the start of the regular season. But he was eventually re-signed and added to the practice squad.

After initially being designated for NFL Europe duty earlier this year, Crosby and team officials agreed to keep him in Indianapolis instead.

But today, his on-again, off-again relationship with the team ended.

Crosby was one of a number of young players who had the potential to compete for the returns specialist positions. But the Colts lacked a veteran presence, especially at the punt returner spot with the departure of Troy Walters to the Arizona Cardinals.

The team used the vacated spot to sign familiar veteran wide receiver and return specialist Terrence Wilkins.
