Figgens Down to Georgia, Clemson
The 6-3, 240 pound prospect traveled to Clemson last week along with his family.
"I went down for camp last week, but I didn't participate. I went down with my family for an unofficial visit. My mom, dad and sister came with me," Figgens told CUTigers.com. "It was a real good visit. We got there around noon. We met at the stadium. Then we went and met with the academic support people."
One of the highlights of the visit was learning more about the offense and meeting one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. "I got to meet with the offensive coordinator," he said. "I got to meet Willy Korn. We went over some plays together.
"Then we went and sat down with coach Bowden. We talked for a good while. Then we me up with coach Napier."
When asked about his current leaders, Figgens responded, "It is going to be between Georgia and Clemson."
A decision should come in July or August.
"I am not sure when I will make my decision," he said. "I had been telling people it would be a few weeks, but it may be a little longer. I am having a hard time deciding. It will be sometime this summer."
How will the prize recruit decide between the Tigers and the Dawgs?
"Of course I will talk with my family," replied Figgens. "They have a big influence on me. I will look at the environment and the comfort level I have with both schools. As for the football aspect, I will look at how they use the tight end. I will also think about how I can be an impact."
The Shaw standout is also hearing from another Georgia standout that has already committed to Clemson. "I get a chance to speak with Rennie Moore. We text and talk a few times," he added. CUTigers.com will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding tight end from Georgia, right up through signing day.
