The 6-1, 185-pound defensive back prospect stopped by Clemson Friday morning to see what the Tigers had to offer. "I enjoyed it. It was a cool place," Butler told CUTigers.com. "It is out in the middle of nowhere, but it was cool."

Coach Burton Burns met with the Florida standout while he was on campus. "I got to talk with coach Burns. He was the only one there. Everyone else was on vacation but we got along really good."

What was the highlight of the Clemson visit? "I would say just touring the campus. I got to see the athletic facilities," replied Butler.

After visiting Clemson, Butler then made the quick trip down to Columbia. "I got to see a lot more at South Carolina. I saw the school. I got to see the campus. I talked with Coach Spurrier and also spoke with his son."

Which visit did the prize recruit enjoy the most? "They were both cool. I liked them about the same," replied Butler.

When asked if he has any current favorites in recruiting, Butler responded, "I like everybody about even. I like Virginia Tech, Maryland, Georgia Tech, South Carolina and Clemson. That would be my top five."

A decision should come over the course of the next few weeks. "Hopefully after I get through my visits I can make a decision. I am going to Maryland and Virginia Tech next week. Then I hope to have a decision by mid July," he added.

As one of the top cornerback prospects in North Florida this season, Butler helped lead his team to the Class 4A state title as a junior last season. He finished the year with 65 tackles and three picks, as he was constantly matched up against the opponent's top receiver.
