Tigers Now Tied for the Lead for 4-Star RB
Roddy Jones, a 5-10, 185-pound running back prospect made his second trip to Clemson in just the past few weeks on Thursday.
"It went well. I think it went real well. We got to tour the campus. Then we went to see Vickery Hall and learn about the academics," Jones told CUTigers.com afterwards.
The tours continued with visits to the stadium upgrades and the housing for the football players.
"We also toured the WestZone," said Jones. "It is beautiful. What they are doing over there is just great. We took a tour of where the players stay. We saw where the younger players stay and then we saw where they put the older guys."
Clemson running backs coach Burton Burns spent a good bit of time talking with the prize recruit.
"After the tours we got to talk with coach Burns. We talked to him for a good while. Coach Bowden was out of town. I didn't talk with coach Spence but that was okay because I talked with him on the phone not too long ago," Jones said.
What was the highlight of the visit for Jones?
"I would say the tour of the WestZone," he responded. "What they are going there is great. It is going to be great."
So did the visit help the Tigers chances?
"It sure did. I was very impressed with what they have to offer," responded Jones.
Georgia Tech held a slight lead over Clemson going into the visit. Where do the two ACC powers stand after the visit?
"I would say they are likely together. Me and my dad are going to sit down tonight or over the next couple of days and see where they both stand," replied Jones. "It will be sometime soon when I decide to commit. I am getting close. I can't say exactly when. It could come at any time."
