Tigers Target Top TE

Tigers Target Top TE

Coach Billy Napier and the Clemson Tigers are going after some of the top tight end prospects in the nation. Where do the Tigers stand with a star tight end from Missouri? CUTigers.com has all the details in this recruiting report.

TE Andrew Jones Profile

Andrew Jones is a 6-6, 225 pound tight end that has already accumulated an impressive offer list that includes the Clemson Tigers.

"I have offers from Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and Clemson," he told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I am hearing that Purdue may offer by the end of the week. There are a few other schools asking for my transcript. I hope Notre Dame and Arkansas will offer."

When asked about his current leaders, Jones responded, "I wouldn't say I have a leader. Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma are the only places I have been so they are the ones I know about right now.

"I haven't really decided yet about camps or anything. I will look at the teams I am really looking at and I will try to go to their camps. I might go to a camp to impress a team that hasn't offered yet."

Jones has offers from around the country. How will distance play into his decision process?

"I haven't really decided. It might be good to go away. It might be good to see something else. It would also be good to stay near home so my friends and family can come see me. My coaches could come as well," replied Jones.

Don't expect an early decision from the star tight end.

"I have a feeling I will wait till after my senior year. I feel like there will be a lot of offers where I need to take some official visits," stated Jones.

Jones finished his junior year with 50 catches for 612 yards and six touchdowns. On defense, he racked up 45 tackles, eight sacks, one interception, forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles.

Coach Billy Napier is recruiting the prize recruit for the Tigers.
