DE Kourtnei Brown Profile

Clemson signee Kourtnei Brown, a 4-star defensive end out of the Charlotte area, is working hard to make sure he is ready to compete when he enrolls at Clemson later this summer.

"I am just working out now at school," he told CUTigers.com in a recent interview. "I have been working out with the plan the coaches gave me. I am trying to get ready so when I go down to Clemson I won't be behind."

Interestingly enough, the Victory Christian (N.C) standout has been working out with former Tiger and Carolina Panther Brenston Buckner.

"He is on our staff now at Victory Christian. I have been working out with him. I wish he was here last year when I played," he said.

"Basically he tells me to keep working hard. He tells me I can get to where he was one day if I work hard. He says it won't come easy. I will have to work hard for it."

The top defender was not able to make the spring game at Clemson because he had an All-Star performance that weekend.

"Yeah I couldn't come to the spring game because I participated in the All Star basketball game that weekend. It was the public school All Stars against the private school All Stars. We lost by only two points," stated Brown.

The talented athlete helped Victory Christian bring home multiple championships this season on the hardwood.

"We won everything this year. We won the conference. We won the state and we won the nations. We had a great basketball team this year," said Brown.

In just about two months Brown will be heading down for the second summer session at Clemson. What is the 4-star defensive end looking forward to the most about getting to Clemson?

"That would be running down the hill. That is the one thing that I think about the most. I am also looking forward to getting my first sack," replied Brown. "I can't wait to get down there."

Clemson assistant coach and recruting coordinator Billy Napier has been keeping in touch with his star recruit from Charlotte.

"I talked to him last weekend. He told me he is proud of me, and he is ready for me to get down there," said Brown.
