Former All-ACC point guard Edward Scott was among many former Clemson student-athletes who received undergradute degrees from Clemson on Saturday at the school's summer session commencement exercises at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Scott earned his degree in management. Scott, a native of Eastover, SC, was not present for the ceremony as he is preparing for another professional basketball season overseas. He competed in Australia last year.
Scott was first-team All-ACC as a senior in 2002-03 after leading the Tigers with a 17.7 points per game average. He also averaged 5.8 assists per game as a senior. He and Will Solomon are the only Tiger guards to be named first-team All-ACC since 1981. As a junior, Scott ranked third in the nation with 7.93 assists per game. That average is still Clemson's single-season record.
Scott started 109 games at point guard from 1999-2003 and ranks second in school history with 595 career assists. He is tied for fourth in Clemson history with a 1.89 career assist-to-turnover ratio.
