Mays, Perry Injury Updates
James Mays

Posted Nov 28, 2007

Clemson forward could be back sooner than expected.

According to Dr. Bowman at Clemson University, James Mays is believed to have a hip sprain, not a fracture.

He is out for at least the next two games, but could be back much sooner than previously expected.

Mays is currently second on the Tigers in scoring at 14.8 points per game and first in rebounds with 8.6 per game.

"We are obviously encouraged by the results of James' bone scans," head coach Oliver Purnell said. "We are hopeful he will be ready to go by the time we play in Puerto Rico for the San Juan Shootout.

"We also are anticipating getting Sam Perry back for the Puerto Rico tournament as well. He is awfully important to this team in terms of not only his defensive ability, but also more importantly, his leadership."
