Butler High (N.C.) safety Spencer Adams, a four-star prospect and the nation's no. 14 safety in the country according to Scout.com, took an official visit to Clemson two weeks ago.

"It was real fun," he told CUTigers.com of his trip. "Now that I've had time to just sit back and think about it. I definitely enjoyed myself and liked what I saw."

How did Adams rate his recent visit on a scale of a one to 10?

"I would give it a 9.5. I really liked it a lot," replied Adams. "I had a good time talking with the players and coaches and seeing everything Clemson had to offer."

Adams also spent his time in Tigertown hanging out with another four-star prospect, big defensive tackle Brandon Thompson.

"He is a real cool guy. I really liked him a lot," said Adams.

Does Adams plan to take another official visit before announcing a decision?

"I am probably going to take one more visit. I am scheduled to go to State on January 18," replied Adams.

Adams, along with Thompson will be playing ESPN's high school all-star game next month. A verbal commitment announcement could come during the week leading up to the game.

"That is what I am thinking about doing. I think I may make my decision during that week. I think I may announce during the skills day," said Adams.

Adams, a two-sport star, has turned in his football cleats for his track shoes.

"We started track on Saturday. We had a meet in Lynchburg. I won the 55 hurdles and the 300 dash. I won the meet MVP award," said Adams.

"My coach game me 2.5 weeks off. She just told me to come out when I was ready. When I first came out I got a little sore. Then I pushed through that," added Adams.
