Clemson safety Michael Hamlin received good news on Friday when it was determine that he does not have a torn ligament in a knee he injured against Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Hamlin's injury is a sprain and he should be ready for the beginning of spring practice in March.

Hamlin missed the last quarter and a half of Clemson's overtime loss to Auburn. He had recorded 14 tackles, including two tackles for loss, prior to the injury.

For the season, the second-team All-ACC safety finished with 97 tackles, second on the team. He also had a team best six takeaways on four interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
