Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookies Gaines Adams and Arron Sears made the Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie team, announced recently.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Gaines Adams and left guard Arron Sears were recently named to the Pro Football Weekly/Pro Football Writers of American All-Rookie team.
Adams finished the regular season as the starter at right defensive end. He recorded 55 tackles, 6 sacks and two forced fumbles. He also had a sack in the Buccaneers’ playoff loss to the New York Giants.
Sears started 16 games at left guard for the Buccaneers, as the team averaged 4.2 yards per carry and Earnest Graham rushed for nearly 900 yards in his first year as a starter.
Adams was the number-four selection of the NFL draft by Tampa Bay. He tied for the highest draft choice by a Clemson player in history and the highest since 1939 when Banks McFadden was the number-four selection of the NFL draft by the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Adams was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year during his senior season at Clemson.
