One of the top linebackers in Georgia says he is taking a break from college visits as he gets geared up for the spring evaluation period. CUTigers.com has the latest in this recruiting update.

6-0, 220 pound Corico Hawkins expects to see college coaches roaming the halls at Baldwin High (Ga.) over in the next few weeks.

“The coaches will start rolling through soon. We start our spring practice on May 5 so I’m sure they will start coming then,” said Hawkins.

When asked about his current leaders, Hawkins responded, “I don’t have any specific leaders right now.”

The Baldwin High standout has been taking a break from visits lately.

“I haven’t been on any visits lately. I don’t really have any planned right now. I know I will take some, but I am not sure when,” he said. “I going to take as much time as needed with my decision. When I know it is the right time I will make my decision. I’m in no hurry. Signing day isn’t until February."

What will be important when the top linebacker makes that decision?

“I will look at location. I will look to see how quickly I can get on the field. I will look at the defensive system. I will look at the coaching staff and how many games they are winning,” replied Hawkins.

The Baldwin High knows what defensive scheme he likes.

“I have been playing a 4-3 since middle school. That is the system I like,” said Hawkins.

The rising senior, who visited Clemson during spring practice earlier in the month, recorded 102 tackles, 12 for a loss, three forced fumbles, and two sacks last season.
