CHARLOTTE - It shouldn't be a surprise to learn Clemson is in the mix for another four-star defensive back.

DB Terry Shankle Profile

One of the top prospects in North Carolina for the class of 2009 also had one of the most productive junior years in the south last fall.

Terry Shankle, the No. 19 cornerback prospect in the nation according to Scout.com, caught 49 passes for 957 yards and 12 touchdowns on offense last season for South Stanley High School.

But those numbers only tell part of the story.

On defense, he had 15 interceptions with four going back for touchdowns and he also returned three punts for touchdowns on special teams.

Not surprisingly, he's also adding a large number of scholarship offers- including Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida, Clemson, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Alabama.

Saturday at the Scout.com/Under-Armour Combine, Shankle performed well after checking in at 5-feet-11 inches tall and 170 pounds. He also ran the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds.
